– P.I.C.P. Level 2 State Coach (Poliquin Group)

Matt Bolgos
Performance Coach

Matt was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan where his love for sports started at a young age. He participated in a combination of sports including football, wrestling, and basketball. While playing high school football he was a 4-year starter at multiple positions and earned Team Captain honors his senior year. After high school, Matt chose to leave the world of college football behind in order to join the United States Marine Corps. Upon enlisting he was assigned to an infantry platoon and earned the position of an Assistant Patrol Leader and eventually became a Team Leader. He served two deployments were he carried out numerous missions from leading patrols in Jordan to training on the island of Okinawa. During his time in the Marines, he found himself leading squads and teams through rigorous exercise sessions, which in turn sparked his love for fitness.

After his service in the Marine Corps, Matt enrolled in exercise science courses at a local community college and also began pursuing certifications through the Poliquin PICP program. While going to school, Matt took a personal trainer position at a local gym where he worked with men and women of all ages. He continues to immerse himself in the field and educate himself through the pursuit of new certifications to help make him a better coach for his clients. He hopes to use the tools he gained in the military and the knowledge he’s acquired from his certifications to help develop the minds and physical traits of clients here at Spear Training Center.
