Mark Weisman
Performance Coach

Mark Weisman was born and raised in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. Mark excelled in multiple sports from a young age. Leading up to high school, he focused on football, baseball, and basketball. Mark attended Stevenson High School where he participated in Football and Track. This is where he was introduced to the benefits of Strength and Conditioning. Mark was recruited to play football at the Air Force Academy as a Fullback. After boot camp and a semester, he decided to transfer and walk on at The University of Iowa. At Iowa, Mark earned a scholarship was a three-year starter at running back, and a two-year captain. Mark was an undrafted free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Mark was first introduced to training while in high school, where he immediately saw the benefits. Once exposed to a rigorous strength and conditioning program and coaching, Mark began to see how a practical and evidence-based approach can be a major differentiator. He fell in love with training and decided to pursue a degree to become a strength coach.

After Mark’s football career ended, he interned at The University of Iowa in the Summer of 2016 leading to a full-time Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach position. As an Assistant Strength Coach at Iowa, Mark trained elite athletes ranging from first day freshman to NFL vets coming back to train in the off-season. While at Iowa, Mark learned from some of the best Strength Coaches in the industry.

After four years at The University of Iowa Mark accepted the Director of Strength & Conditioning at Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO). Mark continued to develop as a strength coach during his time at SEMO while designing his own comprehensive program. After working at SEMO, he decided it was time to come back home and return to his roots and joined the SPEAR Training Center Team.

Mark is passionate about training all clients ranging from teenagers to adults. He takes pride in staying up to date with training, recovery, and health & longevity. He knows the importance of continuing his education to become a better coach and person. Mark is dedicated to positively impact the lives of his clients with the best possible programs and coaching. His own trainers and coaches have had an everlasting positive impact on him, and Mark now wants to pay it forward.
